Cadenza

Cadenza is a technical term which characterizes a brilliant solo passage toward the close of a concerto. For Efstathiou, the Cadenza series has close similarities to classical music. His paintings are intuitive and gestural, and burst with a variety of hues. His emotions are his sole guide, which sway his brush according to his state of mind. Sometimes his brushstrokes flow smoothly and gently like the free rhythmic style of a musician, while in other occasions they are violent and harsh.
